How to send flowers to someone in Bangkok when you're overseas

Distance doesn't have to mean empty-handed
Whether you're working abroad, travelling, or simply live in a different country from someone you care about in Bangkok — sending flowers from overseas is more straightforward than most people expect. You don't need to be in Thailand. You just need to know who to trust with the delivery.
Here's how it works in practice.
Step 1: Find a Bangkok-based florist, not a global relay service
This is the most important step — and the one most people get wrong.
Large international flower delivery websites look convenient, but they typically work by relaying your order to a local florist at the last minute, taking a significant cut along the way. What arrives is often smaller, less fresh, or simply different from what was shown on the site.
A better approach: find a florist based in Bangkok directly. You'll get a more accurate picture of what you're ordering, clearer communication, and fresher flowers — because there's no middleman.
Step 2: Check the delivery area
Most Bangkok florists deliver within Bangkok only. If the person you're sending to is in another province — Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya — you'll need to confirm in advance whether delivery is available and how much lead time is needed.
For Bangkok itself, same-day delivery is usually possible if you order before midday local time (GMT+7).
Step 3: Place your order online or via Line
Most reputable Bangkok florists accept orders through their website, and many also communicate via Line — Thailand's dominant messaging app. If you don't have Line, email or a contact form works fine.
When placing your order, include:
- The recipient's full name
- A precise delivery address including building name, floor, or room number if relevant
- A Thai phone number for the recipient — drivers almost always call ahead before arriving
- Your preferred delivery time window
- A short message for the card, in English is perfectly fine
Step 4: Ask for a delivery photo
A good florist will send you a photo confirmation once the flowers have been delivered. This matters more than it might seem — it's your proof that the flowers arrived, looked as expected, and reached the right person. If you're in a different time zone, this photo is often the moment you find out the delivery went well.
Don't hesitate to request this when you order. Any florist worth using will offer it as standard.
Step 5: Pay securely in your currency
Most Bangkok florists list prices in Thai Baht (THB). A reliable shop will show you the exchange rate clearly and let you pay by international credit or debit card. Be cautious of any shop that asks for payment via wire transfer or informal channels.
A few things to keep in mind
- Time zones matter. Bangkok is GMT+7. If you're in London, New York, or Sydney, factor in the time difference when planning same-day delivery.
- Thai public holidays can affect availability — florists get busy fast around Valentine's Day, Mother's Day (12 August in Thailand), and the new year period.
- Recipient availability. Make sure the person will actually be at the delivery address. If they're at an office, confirm the building accepts flower deliveries.
Why it's worth the effort
Receiving flowers from someone who took the trouble to arrange delivery from another country lands differently than a digital message. It takes more thought. That extra effort is exactly what makes it meaningful.
ChangFlorist has been delivering flowers across Bangkok since 2006, and works regularly with customers ordering from the UK, US, Australia, and across Europe and Asia. We send delivery photos as standard and are happy to communicate via email or Line.
